Father

Our subject for this week is amazing. We talked about Fathers and Finances, and I think both are really important in my life. I grew up in Sao Paulo, which is one of the biggest cities in the world, and we all hear all the time that we have a lot of opportunities down there, and that Sao Paulo is the right place to be successful, but I`ll try to tell my father history in order to show how this can be true. My father was born in 1958, and at that time, his father just left his mother, so the only family he had was his mother and older brother. They were really poor, so they all learned how to work with less than ten years old. My father told me few months ago, that it was hard to grow up without his father and getting the advices that a father should give to his children. However, he told me that his mother was fantastic. That she worked a lot to provide a better life for her children. My father studied a lot when he was young, so he was able to go to university and get a better job, h

Communication In my Life

Well, we are almost in the end of the semester, and It is great to see how the subjects flows every week during this class. This week I learned about communication, and you can think that this is something pretty easy, but there is a lot to learn about it. I learned that there are three types of communications, they are the following: Words, Tone, and Non-Verbal. I think these three principles applies in almost every culture, so when Brother Williams was talking about that, I just remember how it was in my country. First, I knew that there is a lot of power in a communication. If you speak with confidence, you can see many good opportunities coming to you. This is why sometimes being shy its not a good deal. I remember that I was getting ready to fill my mission papers, one Sunday the elder quorum president asked me if I could lecture for the quorum next Sunday. I got desperate, because I was really shy, so I went home think about what I should do. I thought about just don’t show up,

Stress

I liked this week subject a lot because we all have a lot to talk about stress. It was fun to learn how are brain works in a stressful moment, and how your whole body is addapted to suffer during those moments. I never saw a grizly bear in front of me, but for sure I went to some stressful situations in my life. To be honest, this week I am feeling like that, while I am writing this in a quiet place in the library, three girls just arrived behind me and started to talk abot the boys they are dating, and that made me stressful for a moment while I was traying to concentrate to write this blog. In my childhood I was a stresfull kid, I thing I got this from my mom, because she is stressful, but my father is just the opposite thing. I remember sometimes that I was in school playing soccer, and I used to get met really fast while playing, sometimes that stress led to some fights with my classmates that I regret a lot. While Brother William was explaning how our vision change during a str

Marriage

I have to tell you something, I`m just loving this class so for. To be honest at the beginning, I picked this class because a friend told me that it was easy to get a good grade, so a registered for this one, but later I figured out how this class was important to me and my family. In fact, I`m learning a lot of new things, and every day I am able to share something wife my wife at home. Talking about my wife, this week we learned about marriage and how sacred is this commitment with another person. Brother Williams made me think about how marriage in my country in our days is, and I know its not seen as something sacred anymore. People are just co-habitating with each other and they don`t want to make a real commitment. I have a cousin and his “wife’’ which is a perfect example of that. First, I want to say that they are one of the best people in the world, they love God, but they are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. They are almost ten years togethe
