Stress
I liked this week subject a lot because we all have a lot to talk about stress. It was fun to learn how are brain works in a stressful moment, and how your whole body is addapted to suffer during those moments. I never saw a grizly bear in front of me, but for sure I went to some stressful situations in my life. To be honest, this week I am feeling like that, while I am writing this in a quiet place in the library, three girls just arrived behind me and started to talk abot the boys they are dating, and that made me stressful for a moment while I was traying to concentrate to write this blog.
In my childhood I
was a stresfull kid, I thing I got this from my mom, because she is stressful,
but my father is just the opposite thing. I remember sometimes that I was in
school playing soccer, and I used to get met really fast while playing,
sometimes that stress led to some fights with my classmates that I regret a
lot. While Brother William was explaning how our vision change during a
stresfull moment, I remember that this used to happen with me while in those
fights with my friend. I learned a lesson the day when I was going in to
another fight in school, but at this time I got punched hard, and felt a lot of
pain and shame, so from that day I learned to keep calm and try to count until
10 to avoid going in more fights. Few months later my mom told me that I need
to stay relaxed in order to be healthier, and this is totally true.
Talking about stress situations in a a family,
I think that one thing that make families stressful, specially in my country,
is financial problems. We all read that money don’t bring hapiness, but I know
that financial security help you to feel relaxed. Thinking about my childhood
again, I remember that all the time that I saw my parents arguing was when they
were facing financial problems, and when money was there, everything looked
better. I guess that this happens with almost every family in my country. I`m
not trying to say that money is the medicine for stress, but it helps a lot to have
a confortable life. I also thing that external factors are more stressful than
internal for some reasons. First, because when you are having some stressful
moments in your family, you kind of know how to manage that. I mean, you know
that your mother likes things this way, and father likes things the other way,
so you grow up learning how to manage things in your family. However, when
something external happens, you feel that you have no control about that. When
something happens beyond your bondaries, you tend to feel that you are lost in
the middle of a jungle, and you don`t know where to run.
We can also relate
this with this contry, United States. When this nation is having some domestic
problems, such as homeless in streets, a lot of debts from students, inflation
going up, we all think that is something that the government can manage
somehow, this are all stressful things, but we feel that the government has the
power to solve quickly. But when we see wars, or international issues bringing
problems to this Country, the population tend to be more stressfull about it.
We can see for example the southern boarder issue, and also the war with
countries in the middle east. So that is why I think its better to solver
internal things that make you feel stressful.
