Family definition and Researches

This Fall 2021 semester I’m learning about how family is the most important thing in our society, and how we can define Family.

First, we need to know that family is ordained by God.  But what does this mean? It means that Family is essential for God´s plan of salvation. Without our families we can´t reach our eternal purpose.

Second, it’s important to now that even if the world is changing and becoming a technological place, even if divorce rate is rising and the age for getting married in both gender are increasing,  and finally even if the definition of what is a family is changing worldwide, for God, family is the same thing He created at Eden’s Garden. This is a man, woman and their children.             

Many doubtful researches are here to tell people that family is what you want. This year, if we turn on the TV, we don´t know the definition of family anymore. Sometimes that can be confusing for children.

 For sure there are some circumstances which a family can be a single mother or father with their children. Maybe an uncle with their nephews.  However what we see outside is something totally different. Same sex parents are telling with the help of those small size surveys that there is nothing dangerous or strange raising a child inside a homosexual relationship. Is this really healthy for children? Well, that was the question Justice Kennedy asked during a supreme court hearing about this matter. Justices Kennedy’s decision was a mark for the western world, and was based in a research made with few people.

So now we can see the impact of a research, and how powerful it can be. I learned that a simple survey can transform even some ancient laws from a country, and for now on I want to pay more attention about that.

I didn’t realize that surveys are so important in our days. I, to be honest though it was something just to make people confuse. Foe example in my beautiful country, Brazil; We have this polls every four years because of election. I remember that everybody goes crazy when the results of these poll come out. Now I now that all this press companies are making a lot of money with this polls, and the results they present to the general public can affect the result of a so important election.

We can see another example here in United States. Few years ago we had elections here between Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton. That was something crazy, because people were really trying to figure out which one was the best. When the polls results came, I remember Hilary was winning by far, and Donald Trump was losing. Then few months later what happened ? Donald Trump won the election by far, and the press went crazy.

So now we saw to examples of how poll and surveys can affect our life in two different situations.

There are some kinds of surveys that I think that can help the general public. It’s the ones where you learn about real facts. For examples, how many students graduated in 2020 and how many are graduating this year. Then you can see if that number grew or not, but these are real facts, and numbers can`t lie.

I remember that when I was in my country I used to see many poll and surveys about finance, because this is a subject that I like, and these were fact polls, not only trying to guess people opinion all the time. We should now better what type of poll we are looking for.
